TOP 5 REASONS TO GIVE AND/OR RECEIVE RUNNERBOX:
1. You just want one, dammit.
2. Give it as a birthday present (to a friend, a spouse, a sibling, etc.).
3. Give it as a"good luck on your next race" present to your running friend.
4. Give it as an anniversary gift (to husband or wife).
4. Give it as an anniversary gift (to husband or wife).
5. Send it as a "thank you for being so awesome" present to
anyone who deserves it.
anyone who deserves it.
In truth, we don't really need an excuse to treat ourselves to running related products that will hopefully enhance and support our running needs. But how nice it is that someone is willing to do this for us and to make it this ridiculously easy. There are several ways to give or receive a RUNNERBOX. You can order a single box as one shot deal, you can order it as a full subscription which gets you a box every other month for a year or you can give the RUNNERBOX GIFT of 3 boxes for 6 months. There's even a TRIBOX gift for the triathlete in your life.
So, here's the sweet part. Thanks to the good people of RUNNERBOX, one lucky reader can receive the RUNNERBOX Gift (6 months/3 boxes) for themselves or to give to a friend. Yee-haw! (Not to worry, no one will tell if you keep it for yourself)
Here's how to enter: Comment below. Give us something good. Tell us something essential that you always eat/drink/use before a race. Tell us something you've always wanted to try. Tell us how much you love the RUNNERBOX idea. Tell us anything, really.

I've been strictly a "Gu" girl for the past several races. I'm interested in trying out some other options as my distances increase and I need something a bit more substantial.
ReplyDeleteI always do GU too, but today I tried the honey stinger chews from my Runnerbox. Highly recommend giving them a try. Tasty and easy to chew.

ReplyDeleteI'm an old-fashioned bagel, peanut butter, banana gal pre-race. It's the long race fuel I struggle with. Thick gels are hard for me to get down, it's a texture thing. And, my go-to chewy blocks (running gummy candy) are out for me now because they stick to my braces! I'm searching for something new....
ReplyDeleteSo glad I followed you on Twitter today :) what a great giveaway!!
ReplyDeleteI've been wanting to try the pink lemonade stinger chews! But I love trying new running fuel in general!
ReplyDeleteI just liked RWM on FB!
ReplyDeleteMy normal pre-race routine is a banana and a Clif bar. I carry an extra Clif bar, some Jolly Ranchers, at least two Gu's and depend on the kindness of strangers for things like Peanut M&M's, frozen grapes, PB&J cubes, and orange slices along the racepath. But Gu is gross - no matter how much I try and tell myself otherwise. Vaseline for the thighs, small band-aids for the nipples, and some sort of tasty salt supplement would be great before/during a race!
ReplyDeletePre race is a hand full of cheerios,an apple and a cup of grapes...no gels for this lady!
ReplyDeleteSo...I'm still a new runner and don't have many races behind me just yet! Before regular (early-morning-before-work) runs I've become partial to TJ's orange-peach-mango juice and haven't typically carried any re-fueling material with me for mid-run. However, when I used to run I had played around with various gels etc....I'd absolutely love to try the honey stingers! Regardless, I'm looking forward to running so much this coming season that I need to be much more experienced with mid-run refueling options -- this seems like an awesome place to start!

ReplyDeleteI love this concept because I see all the different energy gels and snacks but I'm always so uncertain of which ones to try because there are so many so I just stick to my normal ones. Plus who doesn't like getting packages in the mail? :)

ReplyDeleteSo I am an old runner who has not run long road races in over 10 years! yikes. My go to's used to be GU safety pinned to the inside of my running shorts and then a power bar cut into bite sized pieces (and advil for my sore knees)! Before the race I always relied on a bagel with peanut butter and loads and loads of water in the days leading up to the race (college days excepted when I may have snuck in a few shots of tequilla too). Over the years, I have turned gluten free so I would have to settle on a GF bagel before a race today. My goals ... to get my butt back on the streets!
ReplyDelete1) I LOVE Imagine Dragons. Heck yes.

3) You're an Oiselle bird like me! Yay!
I love cliff shot bloks ;)

ReplyDeleteFor years I wouldn't eat or drink anything before or during runs, especially races, in the fear that I would cramp. Now I have a G1 and water before running, and I hydrate all throughout the run. I've also added Quinoa to my preload meal.
ReplyDeleteI "liked" RWM on FB!
ReplyDeleteBlackberry GU does it for me, but I've wanted to try Picky Bars for a while now!

ReplyDeleteIn training for my first half marathon, I've discovered that GU with caffeine is not my friend and that big marshmallows are a cheap (and light) treat to carry.
ReplyDeleteBrilliant! I will be using those next time. Thx for the tip. And good luck!

ReplyDeleteI love the idea of this box. I've seen similar ones for makeup but I love that they've developed one for runners like us!
ReplyDeleteI love this idea for a couple of reasons. One is that I love subscription boxes. The other is that I am training for my first half marathon and would like to try a lot of different products to see what works for me without spending a lot of money.

ReplyDeleteI love the runnerbox idea! I would want to order it for myself, but would probably get it for my husband instead and "share" it with him :) I always like to snack on cliff bars and powerbars before or after runs or when on the go. Before every marathon I've done I always have a chocolate powerbar, just because I've had a good experience and I don't like to have too much beforehand. I do like to eat honey stinger gels and waffles during races or long runs, too. This would be a great way to try different bars, gels or other snacks! Thanks for the idea!
