THE NUMBERS

"We are made to persist.  That's how we find out who we are."

Last October, I ran my 10th marathon - the Mohawk Hudson in Albany, NY.  8 months, 1 birthday (40th), 2 pairs of running shoes, 3 seasons (fall, winter, spring), 4 blizzards, 6 races, 3 canceled races (bc of said blizzards), 2 LHS running seasons (XC & track), 3 major holidays (Halloween, Thanksgiving & Christmas), first communions (Grace & her cousin, Will), 1 state gymnastics meet (Rosie), 2 class plays (Anansi the Spider & Go West),  4 visits from the Tooth Fairy, 1 broken bone (Grace's knee), 1 new car (R.I.P. Volvo),  2 live shows (Tune-Yards, Hot Chip), and about 500 loads of laundry later I'll be toeing the line of my 11th - the Walkway Marathon in Poughkeepsie, NY.  I have laughed, cried, bitched, moaned, worried, doubted, bucked up and dug in a hundred times over since then.  And now it's go time.  See you at the finish line.  #gameon

  1. FIERCE! I'm so stoked for your race - maybe even more so than I was for my own. Cowbelling you on from FL. Fly so fast any doubts can't catch you! xoxo
