National Runner's Day & Oiselle Givaway

RUNNING...

I also run because....

~ It makes me happy.
~ It pushes me out of my comfort zone.
~ It makes me feel like a badass.
~ It sets a good example for my girls.
~ It makes me feel young.
~ It gives me an excuse to buy running shoes & clothes...lots of them.
~ It is part of my job as a coach.
~ It gets me outside.
~ It justifies my coffee addiction (sort of?)
~ It gives me a reason to listen to, purchase and share music.
~ It gives me something to talk/write/learn about on a daily basis.
~ It makes me a better wife, mom, friend, & person.
~ It takes me somewhere new (mentally & physically) every time I do it.
~ It's freakin' awesome.

Why do YOU run?

WANT TO WIN A OISELLE GOODIE BAG? The lovely ladies of Oiselle have donated this sweet orange spike bag that they will send directly to you filled with some mystery Oiselle goodies.  Not even I know what's inside.  But, if it's from them, it's gonna be good.  To enter, comment below.  Tell us WHY YOU RUN.  That's it.  Then if, you haven't already done it, go outside and run.  See you on the road.

*Contest is for US and Canada residents only.  It will run thru Wednesday, June 12th.  Winner will be chosen via random.org.  Many thanks to Oiselle for this awesome contribution. Good luck!

  1. I run...for the joy it brings to my life; for the mental and physical strength I gain from it; for the way it makes me feel like a competitor again; for the mind-clearing space it provides; to set a good example for my three kids and my spouse; for the camaraderie I feel with other runners (mothers especially); because it helps me be the best version of myself that I can possibly be. I thank God simply because I CAN run!

  10. At first I began running because I was inspired by the finishers at the very first race I ever spectated (a marathon!)... now i run to find my own limits and push them. To clear my anger when I've had a bad day. To meet new friends, and of course so I can 'justify' my need for more pizza. :)

  12. I run for that feeling of shared excitement when everyone is lined up at the start of a race - full of anticipation and the thought that anything could happen, good or bad, at the beginning of the race as well as to experience the same shared feelings of glory or defeat at the end of a race - that's living!

One of the big ones I missed in my post is the friendships and comradery of the running community!
